Material Efficiency and Service Life
Design the supply format
Specified roll widths, cut dimensions and textile architecture can reduce offcuts during fabrication. Slurry solids and viscosity can be selected around the intended process rather than corrected repeatedly on the production line.

Design for inspection and replacement
Accessible joints and replaceable insulation sections can simplify maintenance. Service life depends on thermal cycles, chemical exposure, erosion and mechanical damage; it should not be inferred solely from the classification temperature.
Assess recovery streams realistically
Morlion’s quartz page describes recovery of quartz residues from vacuum evaporation for reuse in other processing. Any recovery route needs sorting, contamination assessment and a receiving specification. Ceramic fibers, binders, coatings and mixed composites require separate waste assessments; universal recyclability is not claimed.
