Industrial Thermal Insulation

Select insulation around the furnace, not just the highest temperature on a data sheet. Morlion supplies alumina fiber and aerogel formats for thermal barriers, linings and seals.

Match the format to the job

Needled blankets provide a flexible lining layer. Thin paper fits constrained gaps and gasket geometries. Fabrics, tapes and sleeves can be fabricated around joints, cables and moving assemblies. Aerogel introduces a different porous structure for lightweight insulation development.

Specify the complete thermal exposure

  • Normal and peak temperature, exposure duration and number of cycles.
  • Oxidizing, inert or reducing atmosphere, and contact with process chemicals.
  • Available thickness, density, attachment method and mechanical load.
  • Permitted shrinkage, cold-face temperature and maintenance access.
High-temperature industrial furnace in operation
Operating temperature, atmosphere and thermal cycling are inputs to insulation design.

Use thermal data correctly

The N-F-1600 brochure lists a 1600°C classification temperature and 1500°C long-term service temperature. Its conductivity values vary with temperature. A furnace lining must also account for joints, anchors, compression and aging; a material rating alone does not establish the finished system performance.

Typical project path

Start with a thermal profile and drawing, select a material and format, and evaluate a representative sample under the proposed service conditions. Confirm the supply specification before production.

Furnace linings and flexible roof seals

Petrochemical furnaces combine broad insulated surfaces with joints that must accommodate movement. Alumina fiber blankets and fabricated textiles are candidate formats for lining layers and flexible roof seals. Rongrong identifies these uses alongside modular insulation in its petrochemical range. For a Morlion inquiry, provide the lining arrangement, attachment details and movement at each joint.
